About Us

Savvy Traveller was born out of the belief that discriminating travellers require a repository for trustworthy, fresh and exclusive travel intelligence.

Launched in 2007 by road warrior Michael Bociurkiw, the intelligence shared on the site comes from a worldwide network of friends and associates - most of whom actually live in the country they are writing about. Bociurkiw is a former journalist and humanitarian aid worker. His travels have taken him to about a quarter of the countries and territories in the world. He has written travel stories for variety of publications, including Forbes Magazine, the South China Morning Post, MSNBC and Business Traveller. Click HERE to read a New York Times profile of Bociurkiw.

In the future watch for added features, including a special section for female business travellers, an online travel ombudsman, and reviews of airline lounges, in-flight duty free and airline menus and wine lists! In the near future, Savvy Traveller will go where you go: mobile phones, PDAs, Blackberry and tablet-enabled platforms will make this invaluable resource accessible anywhere.
